Transfer and Advanced Placement Credit
As a transfer student, you may receive credit for course work completed at the following:
Since transfer and Advanced Placement credit will affect your choice of classes, we strongly encourage you to submit all materials and inquiries regarding possible degree credit no later than the end of the fifth week of your first term. Transfer and AP credit applies to your degree requirements and can count toward a plan for accelerating through your degree program. Placement, if offered, affords the opportunity to take the next subject in a required sequence.
In some cases, it may be advisable not to accept credit for certain introductory science subjects, such as 18.01 Calculus or 8.01 Physics. Some students with advanced placement credit for these subjects register for the next level only to find they are missing important information taught at the introductory level. If you aren't certain whether you should accept credit for a subject, be sure to discuss your concerns with the appropriate academic department.
