Transfer and Advanced Placement Credit

As a transfer student, you can receive credit for course work completed at other institutions, as well as College Board Advanced Placement, International Examination, and MIT Advanced Standing credit.

As transfer and advanced placement credit can impact course selection, you are strongly encouraged to submit all materials and inquiries regarding possible degree credit no later than the end of the fifth week of your first term. Credit awarded is applicable to degree requirements and can count toward a plan for accelerating through your degree program. Placement, if offered, affords the opportunity to take the next course in a required sequence.
