Housing

The UAAP will mail a Transfer Student packet that includes a letter from the Undergraduate Housing Office explaining the housing selection process. You will then have the opportunity to fill out a Housing Request Form that needs to be submitted by July 15, 2008.

On-Campus Housing

For more information, please contact MIT Housing at residence@mit.edu, (617) 253-1493.

Off-Campus Housing

Boston, Cambridge, and surrounding communities are rich with diversity, intellectual and cultural opportunities.  Check out the MIT Off-Campus Housing website at http://web.mit.edu/housing/och/ to find information on short-term housing, apartments, realtors rental fees, leases, etc. Access to this site requires valid MIT web certificates. For information on obtaining your certificates, please see http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/certificates/.

NOTE: housing availability in the city of Boston and surrounding areas is limited, so please do not wait until you arrive to begin your search.  If you prefer off-campus housing, we encourage you to begin your search ASAP.

If you have any questions about off-campus housing, please contact the Off-Campus Housing Office at (617) 253-1493; email: general@mit.edu.

Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups (FSILGS)

Many students enjoy living in one of our thirty-seven fraternities, sororities and Independent Living Groups.  For information about FSILGs, check out the FSILG section of the MIT Student Life Programs (SLP) site at: http://web.mit.edu/slp/fsilgs/, and/or contact SLP staff at: fsilg-office@mit.edu or (617) 253-7546.
