Registration Instructions

You will register for your spring semester classes with your departmental advisor. Be sure to contact your department's academic administrator before you arrive. S/he will assign a faculty advisor in the department of your major and will guide you through the registration process. To view a list of Undergraduate Academic Administrators, go to: http://mit.edu/acadinfo/deptcontacts/undergrad_administrators.html

Registration Day for upperclassmen (including transfer students) is Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

When you meet with your advisor to register, s/he will have your registration form and will help you complete the form appropriately.

You need to:

  • handwrite the subjects you want to take on the registration form
  • review and update your address information
  • sign the form and have your advisor sign it
  • hand it in at the ice rink in Johnson Athletics Center on Tuesday, September 8th.

It is VERY important that you consult the class timetables posted in Johnson on Registration Day, so that you can work out your class schedule. Registrar's Office staff will be on hand to answer your questions.

Make a note of which classes you have scheduled and start attending those classes immediately. You will be able to check your status of registration on WebSIS starting the week after Registration Day.

Complete information on registration processes, including Adding and Dropping classes can be found on WebSIS at: http://mit.edu/registrar/.

For information about the Science Core and other GIRs, see the Class of 2013 site.
