Patricia Brennecke is a Lecturer in MIT’s English Languages Studies Program in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. She teaches courses in writing and oral communication at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has taught in the Singapore-MIT Alliance Program and given workshops in academic and professional communication for incoming international students at the Sloan School of Management. She has presented workshops on academic writing and avoiding plagiarism for the Technology and Public Policy Program at MIT and is the author of the handbook, Academic Integrity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She was a Fulbright lecturer at Charles University in Prague and has done teacher-training in Germany and the Czech Republic. She has also presented workshops at the Second Annual Colloquium of Applied Linguistics and Society in Havana, Cuba; the National Association of English Professors (ANUPI Mexico); the International Professional Communications Conference; and at TESOL. She has also written reviews for MATSOL Currents.
She was an actress in Poet’s Theatre in San Francisco and currently works in fabric art.
