Opportunity for undergraduate study of subject matter that is not covered in the regular curriculum. Topic for Spring 2013: Literature, Film and Visual Culture in Mexico since the Revolution This course will trace some of the central myths and anxieties that have shaped Mexican culture since the Revolution broke out in the first quarter of the twentieth century. We will do so by closely analyzing materials ranging from canonical literature, film and visual art to pop culture artifacts such as comic books and soap operas. Conducted in Spanish. 12 units. Can petition for HASS-H credit. Prereq - One intermediate subject in Spanish or permission of instructor. |
