Dear IS&T Colleagues,

Given that I have worked with so many of you during the last 14 years, I want to let you all know that I have decided to leave MIT. Since graduating from MIT, I have worked almost 25 years in IT in the university environment. The time is right for me to make a change.

A priority for me is to spend more time with my family and in particular be even more involved with my kids as they grow up. In addition, I have always loved math and in some ways have always been a teacher. These factors have led me to my decision to embark on a new career path. I plan to combine those interests by teaching children math in some capacity.

I have valued the time I have spent with so many of you and the relationships I have developed over the last 14 years. I have appreciated working with so many talented, skilled and dedicated staff.

I will continue to work with Theresa, my teams, and the MIT community to help ensure a smooth transition.

I'm working through December so will see you over the next couple of months.

Dear IS&T Colleagues,

Please join me in thanking Karen for her dedication to MIT and years of service. Karen and I met when I first joined MIT and worked very closely during Y2K. It is in 1999 that I learned of her interest in "numbers" and Mathematics! Y2K was a challenging Institute initiative and allowed IS&T to work closely with many Institute departments. Karen's dedication to team and communication was one of the driving forces to the overall success of the initiative. The past two years, her contributions to IS&T have been focused more internally with the leadership responsibilities of VM-SST and DOST. She has guided many important initiatives to ensure the continued operation of key applications/services on the "Mainframe" while balancing their phased retirement and substantial challenging conditions within the evolving W91 Data Center.

Please join me in wishing Karen the utmost success.

Best,
Theresa
