New (6/19/06): FrameMaker 7.2 is now the default

What is FrameMaker? Where does it come from?

FrameMaker a powerful professional WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) document preparation package which is suitable for complex documents. It should not be used for email or dotfile editing, for example, but for theses, papers, and other formatted documents. FrameMaker is produced and marketed by Adobe Systems - FrameMaker Products. The FrameMaker suite on Athena include the main interface as well as many supporting programs.

FrameMaker on Athena

FrameMaker 7.2 is the default version on Athena Suns (i.e., this is the version obtained by typing: add frame; maker &)

FrameMaker 7.1 is also available. You can run it by typing add frame; maker -ver 7.1 &

(there is currently no Linux release)
