We found the American responses significantly more diverse then those of the French. We thought that perhaps the French students had been given different instructions on answering. It seems that parents came up more as authority figures in France than in the U.S. and we were wondering if parents are stricter in France. What time is a curfew for someone in high school? What happens if you aren't home by curfew (what sorts of punishments do you get)?
Here are a few questions about French responses we didn't understand:
Who is Georges Duroy? What do you mean by "racket"?
Did you discuss your answers beforehand with each other?
