I have to comment on how similar your responses are.
Many Americans look at the suburbs as boring and lifeless. I was wondering why you associated them with cities and violence, seeing as by definition, suburbs are not cities. I also noticed that you talked about Harlem, ghetto and delinquance. In my opinion, and in the opinions of many of my classmates, suburbs are seen as something to be disliked but for opposate reasons. Many of us see them as one of modern society's negative products. I can't tell what the consensus is on the suburbs among the french students.
Also, I was wondering what the significance is of the number
93, and why cities are automatically associated with suburbs.
Do you think that in order to have suburbs, that there must be
cities present?? What about the modern sprawl far from city borders??

You must know that here, almost cities are especially suburbs.
The number 93 stands for our area, which is known for its violence.
The 93 is the most violent area in whole Europe ! But there isn't
only violence here. You also must know that when we speak of a
city, we don't mean the same as you do : here, a city is a place
where several buildings (flats) are concentrated, particularly
in poor places. FOFO, KACHOU, KAZOU, NANOU

Je pense que je peux répondre à tes questions.Notre
France est divisée en plusieurs départemnts qui
sont numérotés de 1 à 95.Nous nous sommes
dans le département du 93 qui est le plus réputé
pour la violence qui y règne.Et apparament certains en
sont très fière ce que je désapprouve.C'est
donc pour cette raison que chez nous la banlieue est synonyme
de cités et de violence.J'espère avoir répondu

Pour certains membres(plus particulièrement des habitants
qui habitent dans de petites agglomérations)la banlieue
est synonyme de violence,de délinquance.C'est vrai que
dans les banlieues classées zones sensibles telles que
la SEINE ST DENIS(93),SARCELLES(95),MARSEILLE(13),MANTES LA JOLIE(78),EVRY(91),LES
MINGUETTES(69)... Ces quartiers sont trés renfermés
sur eux-mêmes,car ils subissent tous l'intolérance
des autres ;ils se comprennent donc.Je crois que si en FRANCE
il y a autant d'intolérance entre les gens c'est parce
qu'ils ont peur de ceux qui ne sont pas comme eux,l'etranger leur
fait peur,et c'est bien dommage!
