What is the role of the partners?
Partners are an essential part of this project. They are those with whom you interact on a regular basis and with whom you make decisions about the schedules, the timing for the students' exchanges on the forums, etc...

In all probability, you will have been the initiator of the partnership, which means that your partner may be feel she/he is playing a secondary role. It is essential, however, that you make him/her understand that he/she is as important to the project as you are. Cultura will only work if your partner is as fully committed as you. Also, their own students are bound to reflect the same level of commitment as their teacher. So the more highly committed your partner is, the more committed their students will be.

Partners need to be encouraged to take initiatives and make suggestions. They should not feel as if they only have to follow your lead. They should feel like equal partners. A sense of parity needs to exist.

Your main responsibility towards your partner will be in instilling him or her with that sense of responsibility.
