MIT Motorsports 2011 Car

MIT FSAE 2011 car

With the success of the MY2010 car, the team saw new vitality in the 2010-2011 season. With all the enthusiasm, the team endeavored to start from scratch and have a new car ready for the 2011 California competition. The remainder of the summer following the 2010 competition was spent designing the suspension and chassis. We managed to finish the frame in late December and had a rolling chassis by the end of January. Everyone put a lot of effort into the car and by mid May we were test driving MY2011. The test driving went without incident and the MY2011 proved to be the most reliable car the MIT team has ever produced. The team came in 9th place overall in the 2011 FSAE California competition with the highest score it had obtained to date. Highlights included 4th place in cost, 11th in fuel economy, 6th in endurance, and 13th in autocross.
