Career Resources

For Students:

Alumni/nae of Mechanical Engineering department:
All current MIT students can register for an infinite connection account with the MIT Alumni Association. Through the ICAN (Institute Career Assistance Network), you will be able to find out about alums who currently work in a particular industry or have had a similar educational background as yours. Visit https://alum.mit.edu/cs/ican/index.html to find out more on how you could seek career advice from MIT alumni.
MIT Careers Office:
The MIT Careers office offers resume workshops, mock interviews and guidance in negotiating offers. In addition, the MIT Careers office website has a wealth of information on information on careers in academia and in industry. Visit http://web.mit.edu/career/www/graduate/ for career information specific for graduate students.
Where have ME graduates gotten employed?
The MIT Careers office conducts a survey of all graduating students to identify their career choice after MIT. For a reasonably good view of where ME alums have found jobs after their graduate study, visit http://web.mit.edu/career/www/infostats/graduation.html.

For Employers:

Recruiting:
For recruiting emails to the mechanical engineering graduate students, arrangement of infosessions, and other job-postings to the department, please contact Leslie Regan at the Graduate Office, at me-gradoffice@mit.edu.
Relationship-Building with Mechanical Engineering community:
GAME is currently seeking sponsorship for its weekly Coffee Hour event, held every Friday from 8:30-10am. This is a great way to enhance an employer's presence within the department, and could involve distributing promotional materials, coffee mugs with the company logo, or information about upcoming recruiting events. A typical GAME Coffee Hour will provide coffee, donuts, bagels, and other breakfast fare to ~80 students, with a budget of ~$100 each week. Please email game-officers@mit.edu for more information.
