How Can I Become More Like Generoso:
RADIO:
In an attempt to fulfill my lifelong ambition of unifying man and cow I have chosen radio as my means to symbiotically join the two through traditional Jamaican ska/rocksteady music. The folks at WMBR-FM Radio 88.1 FM (listen via Real Audio) have been kind enough to give me a slot late on Tuesday's from Midnight to 3:00AM and silly enough to have made me station manager. The show is entitled Generoso's Bovine Ska and Rocksteady Reality(what a surprise!) and it is my attempt to showcase Jamaican music from 1958-1970, the British Two-Tone movement as well as modern traditional bands.
Check out my radio show's homepage(cplete with setlists) at Generoso's Bovine Ska

I have also had the pleasure of hosting the Late Risers Club every
now and then. Here is a lovely photo of the entire Late Risers crew

I have been a fan of ska/rocksteady/skinhead reggae since I was taken to a Specials show when I was a wee lad. I must really enjoy this music since after working 9 to 5 every Tuesday I still go to the station and do my show til 3AM. If you are curious about the origins of early Jamaican music and where to find it-Foloww the links:
Bob Timm created and the maintains the excellent site on ska/reggae at about.com. This site should answer any questions that you may have on the history of the music and keep you up-to-date as well on what's going on as well. Ska/Reggae with Bob Timm

I have been a film fanatic since my sister Rosaria snuck me in under her coat to see the X-rated film Lenny when I was six. I currently see 200 + films a years and you can benefit so from my lead ass and brilliant insight by checking out my best of film lists for the last few years:
My new Generoso Picks 2004
is available via this link-I saw 180+ films so you don't have to-Or something
like that.

a) A Few of My FavoriteDirectors
At the time of his passing in 1996, Polish director Kieslowski was finally getting attention in the West due to his Three Colors Trilogy after years of work in televison and features in his native country. But, it's his Decalogue, a collection of ten films each based on the Ten Commandments will remain as one of the greatest events in film history. The above site gives both an excellent filmography and insight into his life.
The Village Voice based on such complete films as Goodbye South Goodbye, Flowers of Shanghai, and the Puppetmaster picked Taiwanese director Hou Hsiou Hsien as their director of the decade. He is truly a masterful director but to me no one redefined the visual language of cinema better in the 1990's than Wong Kar Wai. Along with cinematographer Chistopher Doyle he has made many of the best films of the 1990s-His 1995 film Fallen Angels remains my favorite film of the decade.
One of the many exciting French directors to gain notice in the 1990s, Benoit Jacquot caught everyone's attention with his well edited sharp 1996 film. La Fille Seule(A Single Girl). He has consistantly made some the most unique and exciiting films of the last ten years(Seventh Heaven, The Disenchanted) but sadly, his most recent work, the charming Pas De Scandle (Keep It Quiet) is still looking for U.S. distibution. The above link is a recent interview with the Boston Globe's Gerald Peary.
With only two films to his credit (Clean Shaven and Claire Dolan), Lodge Kerrigan has proven to be a true innovator in modern cinema. During Clean, Shaven's screening at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival, a member of the audience fainted. As a result of this single, thirty second sequence, which film maker Lodge Kerrigan refused to edit out, this movie took nearly eighteen months to acquire a distributor. His second film, Claire Dolan was equally delayed due to his uncomprimised vision but never found a US Dsitrbutor. Above is an interview with IFP
He won a jury prize at the 1995 Sundance Film festival for his first feature "Rhythm Thief" and had his second film "Kicked in The Head" was produced by Martin Scorcese and opened the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. He has a great feel for New York and proves that with great imagination and feel for dialogue you can overcome any small budget. He currently has two films in post-production that should be released this year. The above link is from his production company, Film Crash.
b) Favorite Actors/Actresses
Virginie Ledoyen:
Yes, it was very sad when she decided to make her American
film debut in the horrendously bad Danny Boyle film "The Beach". A
very talented actress since she was 7, Virginie has the ability to change
emotions unlike any actress of her generation. That, combined with her
unique beauty, will guarentee her many more opportunites to continue the
standard that she has set throught her career in French Cinema. For
more information, you need look no further than her official website: Virginie Ledoyen
Denis
Lavant:
My favorite actor working today. Since Denis Lavant
debuted in the Leos Carax film "Boy Meets Girl" he has continued to test
his range and abilities in every film. His work as Galloup in the magnificent
Claire Denis film, Beau Travail, is uncanny. Not since the early career
of Robert Deniro have we seen an actor with this level of intensity and presence.
There are no interviews available but his complete filmography
can be found here: Devis Lavant
My Association with Eli "Spoogerag" Kessler
Some people are chronic masturbaters and then there is
Kessler. He plays drums and well he gratifies himself in the most horrific
of manners. I have dedicated my time and this website to understanding
his problem. So, join me in my struggle at the Eli "Spoogerag" Kessler
website.
COWS:
COWS! COWS! COWS! - Yes, I love cows-In fact, I love cows so much that I use every little part of them in what I do. Most freqnently asked Gene/Cow questions:
Q:When did you start your obsession?
A: One beautiful October day in 1988 while traveling back
from Montreal we ran into a herd of bovine and I left my car to walk amongst
them. Nothing breaks up a landscape like a cow, so the sight of them
became an obsession.
Q: If you like cows so much why do you eat them?
A: I eat everything I love. Like Dahmer, only more
socially acceptable.
Q: How do you feel when people give you cow related
gifts?
A: My current list of cow-realted items includes: towels,
soap dispensers, soap, wind-up toys(milions of them), clocks, pillows, oven
mits, sheets, hats, socks, condoms, taffy, inflatable flying cows-Keep them
coming!

STEREOPHONIC FREEDOMS:
As I am in my early thirties and my stereo is still
the center of my universe; I felt compelled to say that no stereo would be
complete without a pair of pretentious overpriced speakers, and my system
is no different. So, if you base your life on the "1975 Playboy's Life in
a Swingers Pad Article" check out the B&W Loudspeakers Ltd Official Site.
Teddy Pendergrass himself would love to hear his own melodious
voice through these voluptuous kevlar-centered cones. I have a pair
from the 600 series.
Bang and Olufsen just makes life worth living. My purchase of my BEOGRAM 1600 turntable was one of the happiest days of my life. I selfishly took two days off from work and locked myself in my bedroom to listen to vinyl-It was a planet of sound.

BOSTON BRUINS HOCKEY:
I love the Boston Bruins. During a five year span (1989-1994)
I never missed a period of hockey. As of March 2002 this is the best
Bruins team that management has assembled in 15 years. Check out schedules
and such at The Boston Bruins Official
Web Site.
Nothing brings me more joy then the sight of Eastern European dancer Kozak kicking a young boy in the head.
FANATICAL DEVOTION TO THE HOT DOG
I would gladly give up meat forver if not for the dogs. Before you even think it let me stop you here as there will NEVER be a vegetarian dog that will equal the brilliance of a pure beef dog. And speaking of beef dogs after years of painstaking research I have determined that the Boar's Head Deli Dog is the the finest dog of the land.
