geoweb

MIT Geoweb provides a web interface to search, view, and download data and view metadata from the MIT Geodata Repository, an international collection of GIS data maintained by MIT GIS Services.

Anyone can search the metadata in the MIT Geodata Repository. Some data is restricted, by license agreements with the data provider, to use by the MIT community only. These restricted datasets require an MIT personal certificate to view or download them and will appear in the search results as "MIT only", unless an MIT personal certificate is presented. People without an MIT certificate can view all metadata, which provides dataset descriptions, including source information.

We recommend a minimum monitor resolution setting of 1024 x 768. If you do not already have the MIT certificate authority installed for your web browser visit: http://ca.mit.edu/mitca.crt

If you are planning to use the data in the ArcGIS software, to create maps or use the many tools provided for doing spatial analysis, or if you want to use the Census Mapping Tool, we recommend you use the MIT Geodata Repository Search Tool built for ArcGIS.
