Normally the
ifhp
filter will write error and trace messages to the
statusfile
specified by the command line
-s
option or the
statusfile=pathname
configuration entry.
However,
there may be a need to get information sent to a central or other
location for system administration purposes.
The
summaryfile=host%port
option will cause ifhp
to open a UDP connection
to the specified port on the remote host and send the error and
trace information to that location as well.
The
monitor
program include in the LPRng
and ifhp
distributions is a template for writing a program to use
this information.
