Michael Stern

I began glassblowing in 2006 during the second semester of my freshman year at MIT and have continued to take classes since then. Becoming a monitor during my senior year marked a turning point in my glassblowing. In order to start providing answers rather than ask for them I was pushed to grapple more thoroughly with what I had learned thus far. In the process I have come to better understand glassblowing and my technical skills have grown as a result. I recently have started working with cane and larger scale pieces. I get a kick out of the challenging myself by making pieces at the edge of my limits.
