Experiments have been implemented to profile the glycans of dissected mouse organs from wild type mice and mice that have had specific genes knocked out. Oligosaccharides are released from glycoproteins of tissue preparations followed by derivatization and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry. The following table provides access to N-linked (N) and O-linked (O) glycan profiles from selected tissues from several strains of wild type and knockout mice. Structure assignments are based on compositions taking into account biosynthetic considerations. The spectra are not completely annotated and are therefore subject to change before entering into the Consortium database. In some cases, the low molecular weight (LMW) and high molecular weight (HMW) portions of the spectra are provided in separate files. Where conclusive ES-MS/MS experiments have been completed, the glycan mass is shaded a pale yellow.
