JOINT MEETING OF THE JAPANESE AND AMERICAN CONSORTIA FOR GLYCOMICS
ON NOVEMBER 21, 2004
A joint meeting of the Consortium for Functional Glycomics and the Japanese Consortium for Glycobiology and Glycotechnology will be held on November 21, 2004, in Honolulu, Hawaii, after the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Glycobiology. This open meeting will be held in place of the normal closed Participating Investigators’ meeting. View the planned agenda for the meeting.

NOMENCLATURE ADOPTED
A Symbol and Text Nomenclature for the Representation of Glycan Structures has been proposed by the Nomenclature Committee and adopted by the Steering Committee.

CRYSTAL STRUCTURE DETERMINATION OF MURINE GBPs
Dr. Ian Wilson, a CFG Participating Investigator and Principal Investigator of the Joint Center for Structural Genomics (JCSG), noted that both Consortia have an overlapping goal of determining the structures of murine proteins, specifically GBPs in our case. He has offered to set up crystallization arrays of high purity GBPs, which will become candidates for crystallization by the JCSG. If you are interested please contact Dr. James Paulson or your Subgroup leader.
