MISCELLANEOUS:
If you have run a previous release of gmsh, you should delete your ~/.gmshrc
file if it exists to avoid version mismatch problems.
Gmsh/GetDP are set up to run from a terminal window where the user's
home directory is reset to /var/tmp/$USER. The reason for this is that
these applications use a network socket in the user's home directory
to communicate, and AFS file systems (where user's home directories
normally reside) don't support sockets.
Although you can run the applications from this location, please note that
any files you generate during program runs won't be saved unless you copy them
to a permanent location (such as your Athena home directory). You can run
them from your Athena home directory directly to get around this issue.
Note: Gmsh can run complete workflows; to see how this works unzip
some of the examples in /mit/gmsh_v3.0.1/getdp-models or the magnet demo
in /mit/gmsh_v3.0.1/getdp-2.11.0-Linux/share/doc/getdp/demos in a
writable location, launch gmsh and select File -> Open and pick the
primary .pro file (you may need to read the documentation to know
which one(s) to pick or experiment with different choices), then click
on Run at the bottom of the left side panel. The solver should be
preset to GetDP.
