Town-Gown Reports

All of the Institute's current and future projects are summarized in this year's Town-Gown Report. The 2002 report and presentation to the city are viewable here, as are the reports from the past five years. These public reports are an initiative that resulted from the 1991 Committee on University-Community Relations.

Washington Office

The MIT Washington Office represents the Institute in Washington as one of the nation's premier academic institutions. The office maintains a continuous flow of information between MIT and the federal government and makes MIT's resources available to federal officials.

Association of American Universities

MIT is a member of this association of leading research universities in North America. The AAU assists member institutions in discussing issues and developing policy positions related to research and education.

Science Coalition

The Science Coalition and its members, including MIT, work to expand and strengthen the federal government's investment in research.

2002 Report of the President

In his report for the academic year 2001-2002, MIT President Charles M. Vest explores the importance of openness in university research and the relationship between openness and national security.
