Club Purpose
- The purpose of the MIT Graduate Soccer
Club is to provide the opportunity for students at MIT to participate
in a competitive soccer league. The club is for dedicated players who
desire a higher level of competition than what is available through
the intramural program. The team competes in local amateur soccer
leagues that offer a level of competition similar to that of the
varsity program at MIT. Team activities include coached practice
sessions and league matches.
Competition/Tournaments
- We compete in the first division of the Bay State Soccer League (BSSL).
In the 2007 season we finished 2nd in league play and were
cup tournament champions.
For Prospective Players
- We are always looking for dedicated,
skilled players (MIT affiliates only) who are interested in joining
the team. We typically have several roster openings at the beginning
of each season (Fall, Spring, and Summer). We do not have an official
try-out period. Instead, we ask anyone interested in joining the team
to attend our practices, and introduce yourself to the club officers.
We'll be happy to have you practice with us and get to know the team.
Roster spots are filled from the practice squad as they come
available based on team needs and demonstrated skill and commitment.
