In the visual overload of the 21st century, logos have become vital shorthand. When there is not time, space, or opportunity, a graphic identity tells the world, in a nanosecond, who you are and what you stand for.
So when the MIT I.D. Team undertook a rejuvenation of the Institute graphic identity, it also undertook an exploration of the MIT spirit. What is MIT? What is its role in the local and global communities? And finally, how can its essence and its substance be represented in the typography of three simple letters, "M-I-T."
