Keeping the letters relevant

For generations, Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been best known by its initials — a fitting economy for a university that values function over formality. The graphic rendering of those three letters, M-I-T, has evolved over the years to reflect the Institute's place in a changing world.

The MIT I.D. Team produced and analyzed dozens of logotypes before arriving at the final design.
