Just plain bond
Stationery is printed on MIT bond—100% recycled 24-lb. paper bearing the official Institute watermark. Order plain watermarked bond from Office Depot to use as second sheets or with the stationery templates provided here. MIT Bond White is part number 774-315; MIT Bond Natural White is part number 868-811.

Producing official documents from your desktop

The templates on this page give you the tools to produce fax cover sheets and other official Institute forms on your desktop printer. These templates are not a replacement for official, professionally printed stationery, which you can order online through ECAT.

Below, you can also download a "blank" template formatted to fit your professionally printed letterhead and envelopes. The margins on these templates are preset, so you will automatically know where to place words on the page. When your letter prints on official stationery, your text will be positioned perfectly in relation to preprinted logos, headers, and footers.

In this section, you can download the designs shown above in color or black and white templates, formatted for Macintosh or Windows.
 

1. Templates to use with preprinted stationery

Choose the design that matches your professionally printed letterhead. The margins on these templates are preset, so you will automatically know where to place words on the page. When your letter prints on official stationery, your text will be positioned perfectly in relation to preprinted logos, headers, and footers.

These stationery downloads are not a substitute for Institute stationery, but provide convenient headers for fax cover sheets, letters sent via e-mail, PDF documents, and other official forms. You'll find step-by-step instructions for customizing the design right in the body of the template.

5. LaTeX stationery templates

These stationery downloads are for users working in the Athena environment. LaTeX is widely used at MIT for theses and other technical papers due to its compatibility with mathematical and foreign characters. The templates allow you to include your name in your departmental letterhead and envelope. You'll find step-by-step instructions for customizing the design right in the body of the template.
