I was born and raised in Manchester, CT.  I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in chemical engineering in 2006.  I started classes at M.I.T. in Fall 2006 and began my work within the Green Group in early 2007. I attended Practice School in Summer 2007 (Novartis station in East Hanover, NJ and Cabot Corporation station in Billerica, MA). For my Ph.D. project, I am working with the group's automated reaction mechanism generation software, RMG. In particular, I am working on improving the accuracy and scope of the software by considering three-dimensional molecular structure effects.
