| And the newest Brothers: Ngozika Nwaneri BKA Sniper BKA FWG BKA Guzi and Ricardo Dawkins BKA Maroon. Guzi hails from D.C. and represents all the time with that go-go music. You can find him chillin at Chocolate City at MIT in room 305 if you are in the area. He was the big boy of the line and held his own all the time. Ricardo is the original Yardsman representing Jamaica and New York. He is a descendant of the African warriors in Jamaica called the Maroons who created their own societies in the hills of Jamaica. |
| My name is Robert Johnathan Hicks,
aka "Swass", #1 MIT Spring '96. I recently graduated from MIT with a Bachelor's
degree in mechanical engineering (Course 2). I am originally from The Bronx,
New York. I enjoy weightlifting, poetry, reading for personal and financial
gain, movies, and community service. I sometimes get involved in many activities,
but that's because there are a lot of things to do here. I am often silent,
but I get along with people well.
Currently, I am pursuing a career in investment banking, although I still enjoy engineering. I am becoming more self-motivated and conscious. I enjoy jazz music, hip-hop with a passion -- mostly New York artists (Mobb Deep, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Public Enemy, NAS, KRS-1, etc.) -- R&B (though I consider it boring at times), and gospel music. I was in MIT's Gospel Choir for 4 years, and I participated in 2 choirs at my church in Cambridge. At my church, I was vice-chairperson of the church tape ministry, and chaplin of a young adult ministry. I was an announcer for a WMBR-FM program entitled We Speak. The controversial show speaks out on issues affecting the black community and our communities as a whole. I know that our chapter will become stronger as each year progresses. Please read information from the chapter brothers. "He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlighened." |

| I am Paul Michel, a senior at MIT majoring in Computer Science (CS) and minoring in Biomedical Engineering (BME). I was born in Manhattan, NY to Haitian parents. I guess you could call me a Refugee. I was raised in Randallstown, in the greater Metropolitan Area of Baltimore, MD. I play piano and enjoy playing basketball for fun, when I have time. I also enjoy dancing to latin music and listening to all types of Carribean music. I live in Chocolate City, a dorm of 28 males whose purpose is to uphold african-american culture on campus! I am treasurer of Groove Phi Groove, S.F.I. and the Historian of the MIT Gospel Choir. My new motto (besides the obvious one) is 'Everything you get you gotta work hard for it.' |
| Hello to all. This is David Fasenah
McGill Jr., of the MIT Engineer Chapter since Spring '96. I am a junior
here at the 'tute majoring in Electrical Engineering with a Large Concentration
in Communication, Control, and Signal processing. I am originally from
Monrovia, Liberia and later grew up in Baltimore, MD.
I am very active in the MIT and Boston/Cambridge Community participating in activities that will benefit me as well as the communities I am a part of. I am always open to hear and participate in discussion on how to uplift the communities in which we live. I am very much into music liking anything that sounds good. Right now I am very much into jazz and enjoy classical jazz like Duke and Benny Goodman. I also listen to hiphop, R&B, reggae, soca and anything I can dance to. I see great things for the future of Groove and for the MIT Chapter in particular. We hope that we can share this vision with the Boston/Canbridge Community and the nation as a whole. Check out my home page for more info about D.F. McGill. |
| The definitive creation of man occurred at 5 a.m. on June 10, 1977.
Jason Randolph Dailey was born and raised in the warm, relaxing, and culturally diverse focal point of Northen American, Houston, TX. It was here where is early schooling educated him in the great philosophers, mathematicians, and scientists of years past. He attended Bellaire High School and was taught not only how to cultivate his neural synapses and employ Jedi Mind Tricks, but more importantly how to live life. He is now currently studying Management Science and The Art of Manipulation at the Sloan School of Management at M.I.T. When he is not studying, he enjoys being Chair of the Program Board, serving on the Student Advisory Committee to the Presidential Task Force on Student Life & Learning, skillfully throwing implements for the M.I.T. Varsity Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field team, and groovin' with the Grooves of the Engineer Chapter of G Phi G. He is in fact the Enforcer of the Dimn Mach Line (#5 Spring '96) and has been known to knock down the doors of any naive nincompoops who try to alter the path of his greatness. He enjoys listening to all types of music, but especially jazz. If you're ever in Cambridge, stop by his room in La Casa, and he will welcome you into his own jazz club. He also enjoys sports, philosophical discussions on life, and playing with Legos. To him, the best things in life are God, his mom (she is the bomb), relations, sleep, music, and life itself. After M.I.T. he is not quite sure of what he will be doing. He could possibly become a writer, a professor, or maybe even a music mogul. Although it is also entirely possible that he may enter the health care industry, go into marketing, or enter the world of management consulting. Unlike Fellowman Marc, he doesn't have the high aspiration of dominating the world . . . he would be completely satisfied if he just owned 51% of it. |
| Marc Antoni Mander (B. 10/18/75)
a.k.a. Dolemite, Brilliance, Genius, Da Man. The brilliant mind behind
the magnificent Dynamic Crew Line of the Washington D.C. Chapter of Groove
Phi Groove S.F.I. founded the Mighty
Engineer Chapter of Groove Phi Groove in May 1996. Marc is a senior
majoring in Physics (Graduation May 1997). This omniscient young man plans
to either obtain his J.D./M.B.A. and/or Ph.D. in Physics. Afterwards, you
ask? Marc seeks nothing shorter than world domination (or atleast a very
influential figure in the socio-political and/or socio-economic climate
in America (therefore the world)).
Marc is a true native Washingtonian (from New Carrollton, MD). In his spare time, he educates the savages on the beauty of Go-Go Music - a splendidly original artform conceived in Washington D.C. - and in DC fashion (Madness Crew). Marc's line brother, Ernesto Clarke, "Tito", also hails from Wshington D.C. Tito is a senior majoring in Mathematics at Claremont College in California. Tito will seek his Ph.D. in Mathematics, after which he hopes to inspire young minds at the university level. Marc has completed successful tours of duty at NASA's GSFC in Greenbelt, MD (5 summers), and at the Institute for Defense Analyzer (1 summer), where he performed classified research in support of SECDEF programs. Marc is very involved at the Institute, having contributed to numerous important Institute committees and organizations. |
