Look for More from the Grooves in the Future

Youth Lab Tours
These lab tours will give the youth of the Boston/Cambridge area a chance to get their feet wet in the area of technology.  Seeing the different MIT exhibits such robotic ants, holograms, and amazing computers will hopefully excite our youth about their future and a possible future in technology.

Rhythm of the Youth!

This program was a huge success last April; it introduced many youth in Boston (as well as MIT students) to positive cultural dance activities offered by our own in Boston, Cambridge, and the New England area.  It will continue next April once again with breakdancing, capoeira, africna dancing, drumming, hip hop, freestyling, and maybe more.  Check the homepage for updates.

the Initiatives Project

Groove Phi Groove asks for your help in the empowerment of youths in our community for the New Millenium.  The Initiatives Project seeks to foster and encourage dreams our local youth have of bettering their communities, making them a vivrant place in which to grow and live.  In the Summer of 2002, a campaign will be launched to find some of the most worthiest and impacting community service plans that come directly from the mind of our local elementary and high school youth.  Through competition, they will be challenged to create solutions to problems they see and may even face in their neighborhoods everyday.  Several winners will be selected through a semi-final and final round.  Those winners will have all the support needed to make their community service proposal a reality.  Their support will come from the partnerships we intend to make over the next year in Boston in support of the Initiatives Project as well as through funding we intend to raise for the project.  We hope we can count on you to donate money or services to this project.  Your help would lend a great hand to this project as well as to the youth of the Boston area.
