Total Corporation Fellowship
Brima Wurie
MIT ODGE,
Room 35-332
77 Massachusetts Ave
Cambridge, MA 02139
With funds MIT has received from the Total Corporation, MIT will be able to offer 3 fellowships ($60,000) to incoming international graduate students from Africa. Each fellowship will continue for the duration of the student's degree program up to a maximum of two years.
Fellowships will be awarded competitively to students whose interest can broadly be categorized as energy-related or social and economic development. Priority in selection is for candidates from the countries in which Total is active in Africa: Nigeria, Angola and South Africa. It is not restricted to citizens of those African countries, however just a preference. Students from other countries in Africa may be considered as resources allow.
The ODGE requests nominations from departments in February. An MIT committee will select the fellowship recipients from nominations submitted by department heads.
Deadline: early March
