news from 1997-1998
August 30, 1997 This is a mucho-special edition of the H entry homepage, not only because it hasn't been updated for a year, but also because I completely redid it just in time for our new residents. About our new hexers: We have 11 frosh and 6 transfers, and the 3-2 suite is borne anew. Of course, we all bid you welcome. Unfortunately, our entry chair, Jeremy Lueck, no longer lives in H-entry due to unforeseen circumstances. We won't miss his face, though, because it'll be hanging out in Jamie Morgan's room for most of the semester (as they are taking several course 6 classes together). As for his entry-chairship, we will have to make a decision soon about if anyone should take over or whether Jeremy would like to remain. But anyways. Tuesday is Registration Day, and so far we have plans to take all the newbies and go out for dinner on that day, so don't miss it. It'll be your chance to get to know each other, which is important cuz we live together. About this new home page. I did it in a day, so it's missing a few key parts, most noteably content for the pictures page, a list of the entry officers, and other little things that I'm sure will turn up soon. It's also much much reduced from the previous one (for simplicity's sake) and thus will be updated more frequently. Like, monthly instead of yearly... So, more news to come when it comes about. If you notice that the most recent news is more than a month old, start bugging me, Andy Hsu (311), your friendly neighborhood web monster and Athena Chair. thanks y'all September 16, 1997 Greeting fellow Hex folks. This is Andy Hsu again, but this time, I'm your entry chair. Huh? Yes, normally, we elect an entry chair after fall term, but since Jeremy had to leave H, I am taking over the responsibilities. Fear not. A bit about what the entry chair does: officially, I represent the entry in HouseComm, the governing body of all of MacGregor. More importantly, though, I'm here to serve as a resource for you guys. Come to me for anything pertaining to the entry, whether it be a suggestion, a complaint, or whatever. All right. So here's some actual news: The new-folks dinner at Bertucci's was a marvelous success! We should do something like that again sometime. Our first entry meeting (study break) was also very well attended. That would also rock if that many people would show up at every meeting. We will have another study break next week. I'll email you specific times -- next Monday is a holiday, so it'll probably be on Tuesday. We'll be having an H entry semiformal sometime soon. More details on what that will be like and when later. That's all for now. If you have questions, visit me in room 311 (the door with all the stuff on it) or email me at shoos@mit.edu. later gators, October 20, 1997 Uff da. No news for a while. Sorry about that. Anyway, a lot of cool things have been going on in the entry, including our semiformal boat cruise, of which there are pictures to see. Our picture was taken today by the Technique, MIT's yearbook. I was very pleased with the turnout of people, so we should have a pretty good presence in the Technique. When I get the proof back I'll put it here. We also have a new Hexer, Girim Sung, who now lives in H326, so stop by and say 'hi' (Alice Chong moved to McCormick). I have added contact information for various chairs in the "huh?" section. That's all. Remember to keep your Monday nights at 10 open so you can come to our study breaks. the chair,
