HASS-D SUBJECTS REORGANIZED INTO 3 CATEGORIES
This is a draft document, prepared for the purpose of discussion within the HOC as part of its review of the HASS Curriculum.
Other than the exceptions noted, Category 1 ("Humanities") contains HASS-D's formerly contained in categories 1 and 2 ("Literary and Textual Studies" and "Language, Thought and Value."); Category 2 ("Arts") contains HASS-D's formerly contained in category 3 ("Visual and Performing Arts"); Category 3 ("Social Sciences") contains HASS-D's formerly contained in categories 4 and 5 ("Cultural and Social Studies" and "Historical Studies").
1) HUMANITIES. This category consists of subjects devoted to the interpretation of texts, of literary traditions, and of genres and to the development of fundamental philosophical, conceptual, and moral issues. (22 subjects).
