michaela thompson

Michaela Thompson studies the history of marine science in the twentieth century, using a single taxon -Chondrichthyes- as a lens through which to examine a range of topics. Her dissertation focuses on the development and impact of marine technologies, human understanding of marine species and environments, the production of biological knowledge, and evolving attitudes towards non-human predators. In her spare time, she works as a volunteer in the penguin exhibit at Boston's New England Aquarium
