John is interested in the history of technology, the history of aviation and space exploration, and the emergence of innovative technologies in the Cold War era. He intends to research the evolution of autonomous systems and the complex interaction of humans and machines in both human piloted and unmanned air vehicles and spacecraft. He also is interested in the role that innovation and entrepreneurship play in the development of the aerospace industry. He is interested in the history of human spaceflight, particularly the Apollo lunar landing program and the race to the moon.
John holds a bachelorīs degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. His career as an entrepreneur in aerospace and electronics included the establishment of three MIT spin-off companies: General Computer, Video Guide and Aurora Flight Sciences.
