
MIT Greek Fire Relief Fundraising

During the summer of 2007, a series of forest fires burnt in Greece, especially in the areas of Peloponnese and Evia. The fires destroyed approximately 508,000 square acres of forests, 20,000 houses and 100 villages. There were 79 casualties, leaving many orphans.
This catastrophe motivated us to organize a fundraiser for the relief from the disastrous consequences of those fires. We are cooperating with the MIT Public Service Center and the "Federation of the Hellenic-American Societies of New England" (FHASNE, http://www.fhasne.com). The proceedings are going to be transfered to the "Greek Fire Relief Fund" set up by the "Federation of the Hellenic-American Societies of New England" for:
