2.8 Command Line Options
When opened from the command line, Mercury recognises the following options:
mercury \
[-style=windows |
-style=motif |
-style=platinum |
-style=cde |
-style=sgi |
-style=motifplus]
[-directrendering | -nodirectrendering]
[-client] \
[filename]
-style: Changes the user interface style.-directrenderingand-nodirectrendering: Enables or disables hardware. acceleration. The default is-directrenderingon X-windows displays (Unix and Linux) and-nodirectrenderingon Windows PCs. If problems are encountered with the 3D display, try both values.-client: The effect of a mercury -client [filename] command will depend on whether a-clientMercury session is already running. If one is, the named file will be opened in the existing Mercury session. Otherwise, Mercury will be started with the named file loaded and the new session will then listen for, and respond to, any furthermercury -clientcommands.[filename]: Opens the named file. If no file is given on the command line, Mercury tries to load the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). If it cannot find the CSD (for example because the CSD has not been installed), Mercury will check the environment variable CCDC_TOOLKIT_ASER_DATABASE. If this points to a database in CSD format, all databases in the same directory will be opened.
