4.1 Selecting and Displaying Individual Structures
- For each structure in the file or database loaded into Mercury an identifier or refcode (CSD entry identifier) will be displayed in the scrolling list on the right hand side of the main Mercury window:
- To select a structure for viewing click on the corresponding identifier in the list of structures.
- Structures in the file or database can be browsed in several ways:
- By clicking the >> button to display the next structure or << to display the previous structure.
- By using the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard to display the previous and next structures (you have to click on the list first for this technique to work).
- By typing a structure identifier or refcode into the text box just above the scrolling list. As soon as you have typed a complete identifier or refcode, Mercury displays that structure.
- By default, only one structure can be viewed at a time and the structure currently on display will be highlighted. It is also possible to display multiple structures simultaneously (see Section 4.2).
