High Holy Days 2009 / 5770

MIT Hillel sponsors events of interest to the Jewish and general MIT community.  Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni are always welcome at all Hillel sponsored programs.  Many social events, special lectures, classes, social action projects, and Shabbat and Holiday services and meals are also open to students and members of the larger community, as well.

  • Students attend for free –
    a donation is appreciated
    ($36 suggested)
  • Non-students are welcome –
    a donation is requested
    ($150 per person suggested)
    ($360 maximum for families)

Break The Fast

All are welcome to share together in Minyan-hosted Kiddush and Cakes, Grad sponsored Break-the-Fast in W11, and the community hosted Break-the-Fast at AEPi following concluding services Monday, September 28.

Food Drive
Before entering into Yom Kippur, please bring canned food donations reflecting the amount not eaten during the fast.  Collection boxes will be outside each of the service locations.

Sukkot
All are welcome to visit the MIT Sukkah on the Kresge Oval from October 2 through October 10.  Share in formal services, special programs, social events, or informal gathering and meals.

Simchat Torah
The Boston and Cambridge Jewish communities sponsor many events and services celebrating Simchat Torah.  Join with other college students and area residents at local observances including lively dancing on campus at MIT Hillel, or at Tremont Street Shul, other Hillels, and synagogues and chavurot in Cambridge, Boston, and Brookline.
