REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONCENTRATION IN HISTORY

A concentrator is required to take three subjects in history. One but not more than two shall be selected from the 21H HASS-D designated offerings. There are no geographical distribution requirements. At least two of these subjects must be taken at MIT. For a History concentration contact Profs.Harriet Ritvo or Haimanti Roy.

For an American Studies concentration (Note: requires a minimum of four subjects) consult Prof. Christopher Cappozola (Fall Semester) and Prof. Meg Jacobs (Spring Semester). All others should meet with Prof. William Broadhead for Ancient/Medieval Studies; Prof. Chris Capozzola (Fall Semester) and Prof. David Ciarlo (Spring Semester) for Black Studies; Prof. Philip Khoury for Middle Eastern Studies; Prof. Peter C. Perdue for East Asian Studies; or Prof. David Ciarlo (Fall Semester) and Prof. Elizabeth Wood (Spring Semester) for Russian Studies.
