          The student lived in an urban location, where housing was easy to find. However, the company provided no assistance in finding housing, or any subsidy to help cover housing costs. The student spent 50 minutes each day travelling to and from work via public transportation and did not feel that a car was necessary. There is an average number of after-work activities in the area.

          The student worked in small group of 8 people. The project, involving basic research, was assigned upon arrival. The project was of average interested to the student, and was only somewhat important to the work of the group.

          The work environment at BBN is quite laid-back, and dress is fairly casual. The student was provided with his/her own office. The co-workers are extremely competent and treated the student with a great deal of respect. The available equipment is fairly advanced, although the student did find some of the equipment limitations affected the project results. There was average contact with other students. BBN did organize an orientation and harbor cruise to promote student interaction.

          No health or dental benefits, moving costs or 5th year, 1st term tuition costs are paid by BBN. Salary was below average.

          The student reported that BBN is a good company and that he/she worked in an excellent group. The student would choose to work at BBN again and would consider working there after graduation.
