Three
acting workshops were given by the company during the 2006 tour.
Viewpoints
Imperial
College Union 19 June 11am
Bristol
Grammar School 30 June
The Viewpoints is a technique of improvisation that has grown from the
world of postmodern dance.
Shape, architecture, spatial relationship, kinesthetic response, gesture,
tempo, duration, and repetition are principles captured; together, they
provide a language for articulating what happens on stage.
Kenneth
Roraback and colleagues offer this workshop, giving a chance to experiment
with the Viewpoints.
Each
workshop will last about 3 hours and will be able to accommodate up to 15
people. Please wear clothing in which you can comfortably move and that
you don't mind making contact with the floor!

Improvisation
for comedy
Imperial
College Union 19 June 3pm
As well as directing The Coalition, Adam Miller leads MIT's improv comedy
troupe, Roadkill
Buffet. In this 3-hour workshop, participants
can expect to learn the basics for the creation of an improvised
scene:
how to develop a character, build a relationship, and construct an
environment
from a single suggestion. In addition to this we will introduce a
few
games, which will, with the scene work, aid in the construction of a 20-minute
fully improvised piece.
