MIT Graduate Housing Assignments

Supplemental Housing Request

MIT Graduate Housing is unable to house all MIT Graduate Students who wish to live on-campus. If you feel you have a situation which requires an exception to our policies and you must live in on campus housing, you should begin the first step by submitting the form below.

If you have received an assignment to on-campus housing, or currently live in on-campus housing, and you need accommodations for your particular situation, you will also need to submit a request below.

Medical: You will need to submit medical documentation which will need to be approved by our Medical Committee from MIT Medical.
Religious: You will need to submit a letter from the appropriate person from your faith, such as a priest or rabbi. The request will then be reviewed by the MIT Chaplain.
Personal: We will need a letter from Student Support Services or the Graduate Student's Office, depending on the situation, with a recommendation for your situation.
Transgender and other LBGT: Requests will be reviewed by the staff from lbgt@mit.
Disability: Requests will be reviewed by the Disabilities Office

If your housing exception has been approved, it will be brought to the attention of the Housemaster (faculty in residence) of the building you’ve been assigned to. They will be made aware that you were assigned to the building based upon an exception to the policy. If you have concerns about this, please speak with the Assistant Director for Graduate Housing.
