Graduate Housing Spotlight on...

Eastgate Parking and Construction

Introducing: Ashdown House!

A First Class, State-of-the-Art System...

MIT's graduate residential system consists of 5 residence halls that are a unique mix of dormitory and apartment style housing, 2 family housing apartment buildings, and live-in positions within the undergraduate living groups. Several of our buildings have been opened in the last 8 years, and our newest building, Ashdown House, will be environmentally friendly with a LEED certification!

All of our graduate housing is located within ten minutes walking or biking distance of most classrooms and libraries. These pages provide information on applying for the various housing options, as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

Housing assignments are generally made twice a year during our Spring and Fall Housing Allocations (previously known as the Housing Lottery). At other times housing assignments are made to people on our Waiting List as space becomes available.

For more information regarding graduate or family living options, please:
• e-mail graduatehousing@mit.edu,
• visit E19-429,
• or call 617-253-5148.

>>> Another Option? <<<
Several of MIT's Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups offer Graduate Students the opportunity to live with them at very reasonable rates. Though they are in no way affiliated with the Graduate Housing Office, they may represent for some students the perfect solution to a difficult (and expensive) housing problem. The following houses have asked us to list them as interested in housing MIT Graduate Students:
ADP, AEPi, Beta Theta Pi, Fenway House, pika, Epsilon Theta, and Sigma Nu.

A more comprehensive list of spaces available to Graduate Students (including visiting students) is available here: http://www.fsilg.coop/gradhousing/

MIT's affiliated Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups are supported through the Student Life Programs Office, you an find out more information about them these groups here: http://web.mit.edu/slp/fsilgs/.

Good luck!
