Summer Guest Housing Information for
Undergraduate Dorms

Available June 9th - August 10th, 2008

Only affiliates of MIT : students, faculty, staff, and department sponsored guests are eligible for MIT Summer Guest Housing.

Our guest must be academically involved with or doing business at MIT.

(We are unable to house family members )

 

All rooms are equipped with:
  • 1-2 beds, depending on room type
  • linens for the bed(s)
  • pillow(s)
  • towels
  • closet
  • phone: incoming and campus outgoing only
  • wireless and ethernet access in all dorms
  • bureau
  • desk and chair
Bathrooms are located on each floor - most are shared
Housekeeping service is available. (Not available for discounted student rates.)
Pay phones, coin operated laundry and vending machines are located in each house.

 

Non-MIT Student Rate:

** Non-MIT student rate applies only to students working at a MIT lab or department. Department sponsored guests or programs staying a minimum of 6 weeks are eligible to pay the MIT extended stay summer rate. Please email residence@mit.edu for more information.
Forms of Payment:
  • We accept credit cards, check, travellers check and money orders made payable: to MIT, we do not accept cash.
  • Cost object-G/L account information for journal voucher transfers are also accepted. (Journal vouchers will be processed after the departure date.)
    (Account number and cost objects are required for all department sponsorships)
  • Payment by check or money order must be made on or before the arrival date. (This is typically done at check-in.)
  • Credit Card information must be submitted prior to check-in via our secure Credit Card Payment Form.
Check in:
Guests may check in anytime after 3pm. If rooms are ready earlier, we are happy to check you in sooner, but if not, we can store your luggage temporarily.
Checkout Times:
Checkout time is anytime before 11am.
Keys and Front Door Access Cards:

Keys and front door access cards must be returned when you check out of your residence hall. If a key or card is not returned, replacement charges will be assessed, $25. per key and $3. per card.

Responsibility for Personal Property:

The Institute assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property of students or guests. This includes, but is not limited to, loss by fire, theft, water, and malfunction of electrical or mechanical systems. We reccommed that summer guests secure any items of value and lock doors and windows when your room is unattended.

Parking:
Memorial Drive and Vassar Street offer free street parking. We do not offer any on-campus parking for our guests due to limited space.
Reservation Confirmation:
Within 2 business days of receiving your reservation request, you will receive a brief email stating your reservation was either accepted or denied. One to two weeks prior to your arrival date, you will receive a detailed email with all the information need for your stay.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to change or cancel your reservation for any reason, please email rresidence@mit.edu at least 48 hours in advance.
Smoking is only permitted outside of the residence halls.
