Realtors

A real estate agent or realtor acts as an intermediary between a prospective tenant or buyer and the property owner. Real Estate Agencies list information about apartments and houses for rent and for sale. Most agencies charge a “finders fee” of up to one month’s rent if you rent a place through them. If you are unfamiliar with the Boston/Cambridge area, an agency can be an invaluable time saver by escorting you to various available units in your search for housing accommodations. Carefully read and understand the rental application prior to signing and if you are uncertain about the commitment you are making, you are welcome to bring the document to the Off Campus Housing Service for review. Never feel pressured to rent an apartment or to sign any document. The Off Campus Housing Service would also appreciate feedback on the experiences with any of the agencies listed below to ensure they continue to provide quality service to our affiliates.
