Random hall is a book which should not be judged by its cover.
Behind the building's modest façade live 93 amazing undergraduates, engaged in an astonishing variety of pursuits. "Random" describes us well: our opinions, personalities, musical tastes, religious and political affiliations, feeding habits, and circadian rhythms range wide. Despite (or because of) our diversity, we're a cohesive community who value one another for our differences as much as for what we have in common. Randoms often study together, cook and eat dinner together, build things together, and just hang
out together.
As Housemasters, it is a privilege to share our lives with Random Hall's residents. When we're not home in the dorm, Nina is the head of Systems and Technology Services for the MIT Libraries. Christopher is a poet, playwright, and art critic. Simon is a sophomore at Boston College High School, where he is a varsity wrestler and on the board of the literary magazine. Cheshire the collie rounds out our mammalian group - much loved by all for his sweet disposition and his neurotic fear of linoleum floors.
Random Hall has been our home for almost eleven years. It's a wonderful place to live, and we look forward to welcoming you in person.

Experience
MIT, Random, AND Cambridge! Random
is situated in a great location - no farther from classrooms than most
of the undergraduate residence halls - but a whole lot closer to all
the City of Cambridge has to offer.
Random
is just on the outside of Central Square, one of Cambridge's most active
areas - filled with restaurants, conveniences, stores, and events and
activities, including street fairs and concerts. There's also ice cream,
if you want to go out for it, though we recommend ours - ice cream done
the MIT way (you'll just have to stop by to find out).
