Summer FAQ's ! |

| Am I guaranteed summer housing? Summer housing is not guaranteed. There is a limited amount of space set aside in each residence hall to accommodate MIT students as well as special summer programs, conferences and renovation/maintenance projects. Applicants will be entered into a lottery and notified of their status by May 1st, 2008. If you do not receive summer housing in the lottery, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list and will be offered an assignment should we receive cancellations. |
| When do I have to move out ? If you will not be living in an undergraduate dorm in Fall 2008, you must check out of your summer assignment by 12noon on Sunday August 10th. If you will be living in an undergraduate dorm in Fall 2008, pleae check with your Fall dorm's House Manager after August 10th as to when your can begin to transition to your Fall assignment. |
| Where will I find the summer housing application ? The summer housing application will be available on Monday, March 24th and can be found at: http://web.mit.edu/housing/undergrad/summerapp.html . |
| What if I miss the summer housing application deadline? If you miss the deadline and wish to be added to the summer housing waiting list, you should go to http://web.mit.edu/housing/undergrad/summerapp.html to be added to the waiting list. |
| What if I don't want to stay the full 10 weeks? This is fine. Although you will be responsible for the full summer rent, you may checkout of your assigned residence hall at anytime. The rate will not be prorated. |
| What is the rent for graduated seniors who opt to stay through June 30, 2008? The rent will be the weekly summer rent of the house you are assigned. |
| Is their a fee to cancel summer housing ? Summer housing cancellations received by May 13th will not be charged a fee. Summer housing cancellations received on or after May 13th will be charged a late cancellation fee of $200.00 . |
