U.S. Treasury Savings Bonds

The U.S. Treasury Department offers a convenient service for purchasing U.S. Savings Bonds through TreasuryDirect - a highly secure online program that allows you to schedule electronic Series EE and I Savings Bond purchases by debiting the savings or checking account of your choice. After opening an online account at http://www.TreasuryDirect.gov/, you can manage your savings bond purchases, redemptions, and savings portfolio over the Internet. For your convenience, you can schedule recurring deductions from your selected bank account. You can also set up multiple bank accounts from which to withdraw funds. The bond is placed in your TreasuryDirect account until you decide to redeem it.
