On July 1, 2006, SAP became the new MIT system of record for tracking Support and Service Staff vacation. In the future, SAP will also become the system of record for Administrative, Sponsored Research, and Other Academic Staff who are vacation-eligible.

MIT's vacation policy has not changed. Administrative, Support, Service, and Sponsored Research Staff will continue to receive vacation according to Section 4.2 in the Personnel Policy Manual. Senior Researchers, Postdoctoral Associates, Technical Instructors, and Coaches will remain subject to the vacation policies outlined in Policies and Procedures: Sections 5.2, 5.3, 2.3.6, and 2.3.7, respectively. All employees are still expected to talk with their supervisors before making vacation plans.
