The HSTers lost the season opener, but it was a good start nonetheless. The 6 to 1 loss against the Earmuffs masks the fact that it was a tight game until the late innings. The Earmuffs outhit the HSTers 11 to 8, getting 7 hits and adding 5 runs in the final three innings to put the game out of reach.
A better outcome is surely expected next week against Barrel of Monkeys as old players and new get used to playing together.
Kudos to, Joey Feingold, who with two outs in the second inning put on a valiant at-bat to allow Keith Darrow, who earlier in the inning hit a single, to score on a single to center plating the only run of the game for the HSTers.
