Welcome to the HST.160 summer review. The goal of this exercise is to review some basic molecular biology and genetics concepts in preparation for the class this fall. A solid understanding of the topics covered in this review will be assumed at the beginning of the term.

We will begin with a quiz to evaluate your background in molecular biology and genetics. Please take this quiz without any aids as it is important that you identify your weaknesses. At the end of this exercise, your answers will be graded. A list of important topics covered in the quiz will also be provided, along with reference materials. If you are unsure of your knowledge in a particular area, it is strongly recommended that you review that topic in one of the listed references.

On the first day of class, the instructors will administer a similar quiz, at which time, each of you will impress the socks off of the staff.

After finishing the exercise, you may view the entire quiz along with explanations and provided materials. Please refrain from viewing these answers until you have completed the entire quiz and review as necessary. Good luck.
