Career Highlights:
Dr. Goodman received a BAS in applied science and bioengineering and a
MSE in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He also received
an MD, cum laude, from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division
of Health Sciences and Technology.
Since 2004, Dr. Goodman has served as president and chief executive officer
of Interventional Therapeutic Solutions Inc; an implantable drug delivery
systems company. He also currently serves on the board of directors of
NEUROMetrix, a neurodiagnostics company founded and run by classmate and
fellow HST alumnus Shai Gozani, MD 1994, PhD.
Dr. Goodman has been an independent consultant providing product design,
regulatory and analytical consulting services to corporations within the
medical device, biopharmaceutical, and health and services markets from
2003 to 2004, as well as from 2001 to 2002. From 2002 to 2003, Dr. Goodman
served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Pherin Pharmaceuticals,
a pharmaceutical discovery and development company. From 1994 to 2001,
he held various positions, including chief executive officer, chief medical
officer and director, for LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, Inc., a disease
management services company that he founded. In 1990, while still a first
year HST student, David co-founded Aradigm (Nasdaq: ARDM), which focused
on developing novel devices and formulations for pulmonary drug delivery.
Aradigm went public in 1996. David began his career at Nellcor (TYCO Healthcare)
in 1982, as one of the original designers of the Nellcor pulse oximeter.
Dr. Goodman holds 18 U.S. patents and is licensed to practice medicine
in California.
